ID Info (for new faculty)

In order to borrow library books, new faculty will need to present a JHU ID (Jcard) to the SAIS Library Circulation Desk so we can enter its barcode in the Library's system.  The SAIS Business Office issues JCards.

Remote Access to Databases

In order to access library databases from off-campus, new faculty will need to have a JHED ID and password. See the SAIS Academic Affairs/Faculty Resources page for information on setting up your password.

Faculty who are not yet on payroll but need advance access to library resources in order to plan their course readings should contact Julie Micek (julie.micek@jhu.edu, 202-663-5713) in Academic Affairs to arrange for a JCard and JHED ID.

Faculty who are currently teaching but not on payroll and want off-campus access to library resources may need to email saishelp@jhu.edu to request that their JHED preferences be set up so they’re recognized as JHU faculty.

For a complete list of all JHU online resources, see:

SAIS Library Research Guides  provide help in discovering both online and print resources.
